  • Today there are nearly 900,000 military student-age children being educated in public, private and home-based schools in the USA and around the world.

Non-DoD Schools Program (NDSP)

  • The Non-DoD Program supports approximately 4,000 students assigned to 307 duty stations worldwide. Data as of 01 OCTOBER 2022.

Partnership Branch

  • DoDEA shares expertise with local education agencies (LEA) and public schools that educate military students through our Partnership Branch.

DoDEA manages $3.07 billion to operate our school system. Accountability is paramount. Managers from every level of DoDEA participate in a process for prioritizing mission requirements and allocating limited discretionary funds. Of the annual DoDEA budget, approximately 63% is devoted to payroll expenses, including overseas living quarters and post allowances.
