Biography

Mr. Smith began his teaching career as a physical education and health teacher at Harriet Tubman Charter School, in the Bronx, New York. In 2012, he began serving military families at DoDEA's Maxwell Elementary and Middle School, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. There, he contributed to the continuous school improvement team and was instrumental in launching the middle school athletics program.

Mr. Smith’s career progressed as he transitioned to leadership roles as an administrator. His administrator positions include interim assistant principal at Fort Rucker Elementary School and Primary School, Fort Rucker, Alabama; assistant principal at Mahaffey Middle School, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and principal at C.C. Pinckney Elementary School, Fort Jackson, South Carolina. In 2022, Mr. Smith expanded his leadership roles as the Community Superintendent of Camp Lejeune Community Schools, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Mr. Smith earned his bachelor's degree in Higher Education at the State University of New York- Brockport and a master's degree in athletic administration from Canisius College. He also holds an educational specialist degree in educational leadership from Liberty University.

Mr. Smith is a proud veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps as a nuclear biological chemical defense specialist for six years.

Mr. Smith is married to Tracy, and they have three sons.
