Assessments
Formative assessments are a process that provides information about student learning, minute-by-minute, day-to-day, and week-to-week so teachers continuously adapt instruction to meet students’ specific needs and secure progress.
Formative assessments can take a variety of forms, from more formal quizzes and assignments to informal questioning techniques to check for understanding and to make changes in instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Â Performance-based assessment (PBA) is a type of classroom assessment tool teachers use to determine deeper levels of student understanding that cannot be obtained through other assessment methods such as multiple choice and short- and even extended-response items. Assessments can take different formats to include digital formats, project-based tasks, rubrics, and more.
