Happy New Year - Reflections on this School Year!
Dear DoDEA-Europe Team,
Happy New Year! As I reflect upon this school year, I'm filled with gratitude and excitement by what we have accomplished thus far and what we are yet to achieve in 2024 and beyond.
We have much to celebrate from the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year-
- The New York Times article recognizing DoDEA’s scores on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and acknowledging DoDEA students achieving outstanding results rarely seen in public education.
- DoDEA Europe students earned 814 Advanced Placement (AP) scholar awards in 2023.Â
- 21 DODEA Europe High Schools achieved AP Honor Roll, which recognizes schools whose Advanced Placement programs deliver results for students while broadening access to advanced coursework.
- Vicenza Elementary School was the recipient of the National Blue-Ribbon award.Â
- Kerrie Gill, Teacher at SHAPE Middle School was selected as the 2024 DoDEA Teacher of the Year.
- 2 Ribbon cuttings- Grafenwoehr Elementary School and Vicenza High School and 1 Groundbreaking- Spangdahlem Elementary School.Â
In 2024—
- Continued preparation for Universal Prekindergarten at most of our schools and contingent upon approval of the Fiscal year 2024 budget.Â
- New Brussels Unit School and Sembach Elementary buildings are under construction and expected to be completed in SY 24/25.Â
- DoDEA Europe Region will reconfigure to establish a 4th district by SY24-25. District configuration will include:Â
