College and Career Ready Standards – Gifted Education (CCRSGE)

The College and Career Ready Standards – Gifted Education were adopted from the National Association for Gifted Children. The updated standards focus on diversity and collaboration. CCRSGE use student outcomes for goals, rather than teacher practices. The standards are grounded in theory and research in order to meet the needs of all advanced learners.

Advanced Academic Program and Services Implementation Guide 2019
Students with characteristics of giftedness present a vast array of strengths and abilities, as well as unique needs, so it is important to have an inclusive program that recognizes and meets these diverse needs. Because high ability students consistently demonstrate a need for greater academic rigor, it is important for all teachers to differentiate instruction to meet their students' needs throughout the instructional day.

National Association for Gifted Children
NAGC is a non-profit organization of parents, teachers, educators, community leaders and other professionals who unite to address the unique needs of all children and youth with demonstrated gifts and talents as well as those who may be able to develop their talent potential with appropriate educational experiences.

National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented
(NRC/GT) is guided by emerging research about the broadened conception of human potential and the need to develop "high-end learning" opportunities for all of America's students. Programs and services designed to challenge the highest levels of learning and creativity; to promote high expectations, rigorous standards, and greater engagement with subject matter should be an integral part of every school's overall program.

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
The largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.
