9000 - Autism - Autism
Teachers seeking endorsement in Autism must fulfill the requirements for an endorsement in Special Education and must have completed a minimum of 15 semester hours in autism specific content covering students ages Pre-K through 12th grade to include:
Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders (includes Asperger's Syndrome and high functioning autism) AND
Methodologies for working with children with autism such as:
- Applied Behavioral Analysis
- Discrete Trial Training
- Structured Teaching
Educational instruction in:
- Verbal behavior
- Language development
- Socialization/Relationship development
- Sensory Integration
Assessing and monitoring student progress.
1730 - Education Research Analyst - Educational Researcher
Minimum Education Requirement: A Master’s degree in the field of Education. Degree must have included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in a field related to the work of the position to be filled (such as statistics, data collection, data analysis, data reporting, research methods, etc.), of which at least one course was in research methods and at least two courses were in statistics. The course work must have been completed at or accepted by a regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
The undergraduate/graduate course work must have included study in at least three of the following five areas:Â
1. Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology:Â Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.Â
2. Instructional design practices:Â Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.Â
3. Educational evaluation:Â Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.Â
4. Instructional product development:Â Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.Â
5. Computers in education and training:Â Study of the application of computers in education and training.Â
Specialized Experience Requirements (5 years):Â Specialized experience is experience gained while applying research principles and methods that required broad and thorough knowledge of one or more scientific fields or interdisciplinary areas to educational research work and experience in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, educational administration, or comparable activities in an elementary and/or secondary school, a research contractor that partners with systems, state education system, federal education agency, and/or higher education level, which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PreK-12th grade education, training and research.Â

0490 - Elementary - Guidance Counselor - Guidance Counselor
A master’s degree in educational guidance and counseling, or a master’s degree with a minimum of 30 SH of graduate course work well distributed over the areas of guidance and counseling with practical application to programs and practices in a PreK-12 school setting is required. Course work must include guidance and counseling in the elementary, middle or secondary school (PreK-12); legal and ethical issues in counseling; counseling children and adolescents; administration and interpretation of tests; career counseling; and drug education. Additionally, a practicum/internship in PreK-12 school guidance and counseling is required. A second category is not required.
0491 - Middle - Guidance Counselor - Guidance Counselor

0478 - School Nurse - School Nurse
Applicant must have a bachelors' degree in nursing (BSN) and hold current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by a State Board of Nursing OR a school nurse license issued by a State Board of Education. Current state RN licensure must be provided and maintained throughout employment with DoDEA. Applicants should have a minimum of one year experience as a school nurse or school nurse substitute in a Pre-K-12 school setting. If the applicant has a baccalaureate degree in other than nursing AND current RN license, the applicant must have at least one year school nurse experience. A second teacher category is not required.
0403 - School Psychologist - Student Support Services Positions
A master’s degree in school psychology or a state license in school psychology is required. Course work must have included a practicum in school psychology. A second category is not required.
0492 - Secondary - Guidance Counselor - Guidance Counselor
