PSAT/NMSQT Testing Program

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying (PSAT/NMSQT) test is the qualifying test for entry to the National Merit(R) Scholarship Program an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. The test is highly relevant to students' future success. The test focuses on the skills and knowledge required for college, measures what students learn in high school, and what students need to succeed in college. The PSAT/NMSQT test is used to determine eligibility and qualification for entry in the National Merit Scholarship Program (MNSQT).

Student Participation

DoDEA students in 10th and 11th grades participate in the PSAT/NMSQT test in October. PSAT/NMSQT participants are automatically screened for the National Merit(R) Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships for 11th grade students. For more information on the National Merit Scholarship program, please review the official website at the National Merit(R) Scholarship Program (for educators) found on the site.
